We are very sad to announce that Black Barn CL is closed until further notice. This decision has been forced on us due to a large construction project starting in the neighbouring field in spring 2025. We hope to re-open again in the future and will update this website with more information as soon as possible. Sorry for any disappointment caused.

Black Barn CL opened in 2020.Black Barn CL is a small family run site within the grounds of our home, on the edge of Framlingham in Suffolk (0.7miles).

Black Barn CL is special because it is situated within walking distance (pavement all the way) of a thriving market town, no need to worry about parking or driving home after an evening out. For a small market town, Framlingham has a surprising amount to offer. As well as the Castle on the hill made famous by Ed Sheeran, the town is full of independent shops, cafes, 4 fabulous pubs, antiques, art exhibitions, a Deli jam packed with delicious things to temp you and a choice of beautiful walks around the castle's mere. This spring has also seen the arrival of a new Italian restaurant which has been opened by the broadcaster and food writer Ruth Watson. Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays the town comes alive with its market, offering local food produce, as well as different stalls selling clothing, baskets and plants etc.

We have 5 grass pitches on a ¾ acre plot surrounded by mostly mature hedging and fencing. The pitching area is tucked away from our home at the back of our land and comprises of a mown quarter of an acre field. From June onwards each pitch is separated by long meadow grass. Each pitch has a electric hook up point and will happily take a large awning. The communal waste service point, drinking water, and rubbish bins are situated with easy access close by.

Black Barn Cl is an ADULT-only site and welcomes well-behaved adults and young people from 16yrs and above. We do have a young family ourselves which may be seen and heard from a distance in our private garden. We are also a pet-friendly site, but please keep your dogs on leads.

Pitches are £22 per night, all in.

Please note that we are a grass site on Clay soil. The ground firmness is very dependant on good weather. If you are booking after a prolonged period of rain please be prepared for short notice site closure as a result of bad weather. Sadly we do not have any means to pull vehicles off site. Please insure you have appropriate break down assistance cover.

At Black Barn Cl we are trying something a little different, combining what is predominantly a peaceful site with the occasional, social, hustle and bustle of a restaurant setting.

There is pavement all the way into Framlingham from the Cl Site. There are also a few shortcuts across footpaths to make the walk more scenic. The walk is a gentle 20/30 mins or a 15 min march. Longer to get home if you are carrying lots of treats and wine up hill!

Do you have any facilities onsite.

Why have you increased your prices?

We had to make the very difficult decision to increase our prices to £22 Per night in line with inflation. We hope you understand that this is not for profit. Many thanks.

Are we able to cancel our booking?

Please see our terms and conditions link at the bottom of the page.

Are there nice walks straight from the site?

Yes. We are very lucky to be on the edge of town but be surrounded by countryside. Please look at our Local walks page for maps and information.

Does the site have electric hook ups?

Yes, each pitch has its own electric point. We do not charge extra for electricity, our fixed rate of £22 per night includes everything.
